About Me
Fabio Giachino is one of the most interesting pianists of the new Italian generation.
Musician, composer and producer, he has been awarded by some of the most important Italian and European Awards including "new Jazz Generation 2021", "Premio Internazionale massimo urbani 2011", "Artisti in residency" at the Italian Embassy in Copenaghen 2016, gaining recognitions both nationally and internationally.
Currently based in Turin, which he adopted as his hometown, he was born and raised in the beautiful hills of Alba practicing and learning music in the stunning landscape of the countryside.
His musical career has led him to develop an artistic vision that crosses boundaries among different stiles such as jazz improvisation, classical music and electronic production, allowing him to perform in different countries all around the world.
STUDIES
In parallel with his academic classical studies (Alessandria and Turin Conservatories) which led to two Master’s Degree in Organ Composition and Piano Jazz & Composition, he also took private lessons and workshops in Italy and abroad (NYC, Zurich, Detroit) with Antonio Faraò, Dado Moroni, Fred Hersh, Franco D’Andrea, Riccardo Zegna, Barry Harris, Joey Calderazzo, Scott Colley, Lionel Louke, Jeff Tain Watts, Hal Crook and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
He also had an internship exchange for some weeks attending the Wayne State University of Detroit.

CONCERTS
In 2023 he played four concerts in Madrid for "Piano city Madrid festival" (IIC Madrid, Matadero, Auditorium centrocentro, Matador Club) and in the same year he had a tour of height concerts inaugurating the new band "Tribe Tales" featuring Manel Fortià and Abril Sauri. In the same year he performed in Canada (Montreal and Quebec city) with G.Murgia trio and in Zambia (Lusaka) with E.Favata "The Crossing".
In 2022 he toured in Egypt (Cayro jazz festival aand Biblioteca Alexandrina) with A.Menconi 4tet, in Spain (ten concerts) in duo with F.Boltro and in Albania and Kosovo with TUN.
In 2021 he had played about twenty concerts in piano solo to show his album in the major italian jazz festival and at Edinburgh jazz festival (UK) ad JazzAhead Bremen (Germany).
In 2020 he performed with the italian trumpeter Luca Aquino at the “Fajir International Festival” of Teheran (Iran)
In summer 2020 and 2019 he played a duo concerts (Organ and Sax) with G. Murgia in the Bran’s church for Jazz at Bran Castle (Romania) and in Vienna (Austria), they are going to record an album together.
In 2019 he showed a preview about the new album in trio at the Edinburgh Jazz Festival (Scotland) in collaboration with The Turin Cultural Foundation.
In the same year he performed a Mexican piano solo tour playing in Mexico City at CENART, at the Italian Cultural Centre, and in Guanajuato at the Juarez Theatre.
In 2018 he did a Russian tour of twelve concerts among Moscow, S. Petersburg, Perm, Kaliningrad, Ekaterinburg, Penza, in collaboration with V.R. Agency.
In summer 2018 he has been invited to Japan for some concerts in Nagoya (Italia Amore Mio Festival) and in Tokyo (Italian Cultural institute and clubs)
In 2017 he was invited to perform at the Italian Institute of Culture in New York City, and at the Italian Institute of Culture in Beirut for two concerts related to the Summer Music Fest.
Also in 2017 he took part of an international project in Nepal performing the International Jazz day in Kathmandu and teaching at the local Conservatory.
In summer 2016 he was artist in residency at the Italian Embassy in Copenhagen for three months. During that period, he recorded a new album “North Clouds” with some of the best Danish musicians
including Benjamin Koppel on saxophone as special guest; the album was introduced in the Copenhagen Jazz Festival the following year.
In 2015 he represented the city of Turin with his trio for the Expo-To at the Italian institute of culture in Brussels and at the San Pau recinte Modernist in Barcelona.
In 2014 he performed with his trio in Prague at the Petrof Jazz Piano Festival.
In the same year the “Fabio Giachino Trio” played several concerts in Germany and Poland at Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Stuttgart, Krakow.
